Claire Jones was born on August 27, 1995. She trained at Kozeev's World of Gymnastics through the 2011 season. She then moved to Precision in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. She will graduate from high school in 2013.
In 2005, Claire competed level seven. She won vault at the Charleston Cup. She moved up to level eight in 2006. She won vault, floor and the all-around at the Hilton Head Invitational. She qualified for Regionals where she placed fourth on vault. In 2007, Claire competed level nine. She moved up to level ten in 2008. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Kozeev's Classic. At the National Gymnastics Challenge, she won vault and bars. Claire swept the titles at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed second on vault and floor. Claire ended her season at JO Nationals.
Claire continued competing level ten in 2009. She swept the gold medals at the Sparkle City Invitational. She won vault and floor at the Tiger Paw Invitational. Claire placed second on vault at the Charleston Cup and third all-around at the National Gymnastics Challenge. She placed fourth on vault and floor at Regionals. In 2010, Claire finished third on vault at the Atlanta Crown Invitational and second on vault at the Charleston Cup. She won vault and floor at the Tiger Paw Invitational. At Regionals, she placed third on vault and sixth all-around. Claire competed at her second JO Nationals in May. In 2011, Claire finished third all-around at the Flip Fest Invitational. She won floor at the Tiger Paw Classic. Claire placed third on vault and floor at the Charleston Cup. She competed at Regionals.
In 2012, Claire finished first on bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Hilton Head Island Invitational. She placed first on beam and the all-around at the Charleston Cup. At the State Championships, she finished fourth all-around. She placed third on floor and sixth all-around at Regionals.
