Shonda Jean Clore was born on October 29, 1990. She trained at Geddert's Twistars USA during her club career.
In 2002, Shonda competed as a level eight. She moved up to level nine in 2003. She qualified to Easterns. In 2004, Shonda competed as a level nine. She finished third all-around at States. She qualified to Easterns. At Easterns, Shonda placed fourth all-around! She won a bronze on beam. She moved up to level ten in 2005. Shonda finished third on everything except for vault at Regionals. At the JO National Championships, she finished fourth on beam and in the top fifteen all-around. In 2007, Shonda competed at States and Regionals, She ended her season at JO Nationals.
She struggled as a freshman at NIU with an injury. She came back to finish third on beam at the MAC Championships.
