Stephanie Colbert was born on December 8, 1991. She trained at American Institute of Gymnastics through the 2003 season. She then moved to Midwest Academy of Gymnastics until the gym merged with Phenom after the 2006 season. She graduated from high school in 2010.
In 2003, Stephanie competed level eight. She finished third on vault and second all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won vault. Stephanie moved up to level nine in 2004. She finished in the top ten at Regionals. At Easterns, she placed sixth on beam and eighth all-around. Stephanie began competing level ten in 2005. She won floor at the Bravo Classic. She finished fourth all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed third on vault. Stephanie ended her season at JO Nationals. In 2006, she finished second on vault at Regionals.
Stephanie finished first on floor at the 2007 For Love or Money meet. She won vault at the Midwest Open. Stephanie won beam and floor at Regionals where she also placed second all-around. At JO Nationals, Stephanie finished third on beam, fourth on vault and fifth all-around. In 2008, she won vault, floor and the all-around at the Gasparilla Classic. She won vault and floor at the Bravo Classic. At the Cupid's Twist, she won floor and the all-around. Stephanie won vault and floor at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won vault, beam and floor. Stephanie finished first on floor, second on vault and eighth all-around at JO Nationals. She competed at some early invitationals in 2009 before missing most of the season due to injury. In 2010, she finished second on vault at the Bravo Classic, Dream Classic and Arena Classic. She won vault at the State Championships. She ended her club career by placing third on floor at Regionals.
