Becky Colvin was born on July 18, 1989. She trained at National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics during her club career. She graduated from high school in 2007.
In 2001, Becky competed level eight. She finished first on beam, floor and the all-around at the Sweetheart Invitational. She moved up to level nine in 2002. She finished second all-around at Regionals. At Westerns, she placed ninth on bars. She finished 17th all-around. Becky moved up to level ten in 2004. She finished fifth on floor at the Desert Devils Classic. In 2005, Becky finished fourth all-around at Regionals. She placed ninth on vault at JO Nationals. She won the all-around title at the 2006 Emerald Team Challenge. She finished fifth all-around at Regionals, but did not compete at JO Nationals. Becky competed at JO Nationals in 2007.
Becky walked on to the Oregon State Gymnastics team in the fall of 2007. She earned spots in the vault and floor lineups. Her season was cut short due to a torn Achilles tendon. In 2009, Becky competed on vault only. She vaulted in eleven of the fourteen meets. Becky earned a scholarship for the 2009-2010 school year. She earned All-Pac-10 Second-Team honors on vault. She earned Pac-10 Special Performance of the Week honors in February.
