Melissa Cream was born on February 29, 1989. She is the daughter of Beverly and Nick Cream. She has done gymnastics for over twelve years. She attended West Windsor Plainsboro High School North. Melissa trained at Arena Gymnastics under Valdi Kolasa, Trish Supthen and West Marutani during her club career. Before Arena, Melissa trained at Future Stars. She earned a partial scholarship to William & Mary!
In 2002, Melissa competed as a level eight. She finished second all-around at the New Jersey State Team Championships. She moved up to level nine in 2003. She finished third all-around and first n floor at States. Her first year as a level ten was in 2004. She finished thirteenth all-around at States and Regionals. Melissa placed third on bars at States in 2005. She was tenth all-around at Regionals. In 2006, Melissa qualified to the JO National Championships! At the 2007 Level 10 State Championships, she finished fourth all-around. At Regionals, she placed tenth all-around. Melissa finished fourth on beam.
During her freshman season with William and Mary, Melissa competed on bars, beam and floor. Her season high scores were 9.575 on bars, 9.625 on beam and 9.575 on floor. She placed in the top ten on beam at the ECAC Championships. She earned second-team all-conference honors. Melissa earned ECAC Rookie of the Week twice. As a sophomore, she competed on bars, beam and floor. She once again earned all-conference honors on beam.
