Shannon Cribbin was born on October 28, 1996. She trained at Metropolitan Gymnastics through the 2006 season. She then moved to Auburn Gymnastics. Shannon, an honors student, will graduate from high school in 2014 and plans to attend a four-year .

In 2006, Shannon competed level five. She had several strong finishes at invitationals in 2006 and 2007. She began competing level seven in 2008. She finished in the top twenty at the State Championships. In 2009, Shannon finished second on bars at the MAC Open. She competed at the State Championships. In 2010, Shannon placed second on bars and in the all-around at the National Judges Cup. She won vault and the all-around at the All American Invitational. At the Long Beach Open, she finished second on vault. Shannon placed sixth all-around at the State Championships. She finished seventh all-around at the Region 2 Invitational.

Shannon competed level eight in 2011. She finished ninth all-around at the Battle in Seattle. Shannon placed fourth on vault at the Byers Invitational. At the March Madness meet, she placed fifth all-around. Shannon finished eighth all-around at the State Championships. She finished fifteenth all-around at Regionals.
