Christiana Yacalis was born on March 13, 1997. Her older sister, Alexandra, is also a gymnast. Christiana trained at Chenango Gymnastics before moving to Southern Tier Gymnastics Academy in 2005. She will graduate from high school in 2015.

In 2005, Christiana competed level six. She placed second all-around and first on floor at the I Love NY Cup. She moved up to level seven in 2006. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the I Love NY Cup. At the State Championships, she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around. Christiana competed level eight in 2007. She finished third at the I Love NY Cup. At the State Championships, she won beam. At Regionals, she won beam and the all-around!

Christiana competed level nine in 2008. She won beam at the I Love NY Cup. She finished fourth on vault at Regionals. She began competing level ten in 2009. She finished first on bars and second all-around at the Parkette Invitational. Christiana placed in the top ten at the State Championships. She finished third at Regionals. She ended her season at JO Nationals. In 2010, Christiana won vault at the Sand Dollar Invitational and I Love NY Cup. She finished second on bars at the Pink Invitational. At Regionals, she won vault and finished second on floor. She competed at her second JO National Championships. Christiana competed on bars and beam only at Regionals in 2011. She finished second on bars.
