Destinee Davis was born on June 3, 1998. She trained at Naydenov Gymnastics under Dimitri Taskov and Erika Bakacs through the spring of 2011. She then moved to Multnomah Athletic Club.
In 2005, she began competing level four. She won vault at the MAC Open. At the Emerald Challenge, she won beam. She placed second on floor and third in the all-around. She won vault and the all-around at the Shamrock Invitational. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Teddy Bear Classic. She placed second on bars. At the Dawg Pound Invitational, she won vault, beam and floor. She won vault and finished second all-around at the Northern Star Invitational. At Level 4 Sectionals, she won vault and the all-around. She won floor at the State Championships. She finished third on beam and in the all-around.
By December of 2005, Destinee was competing level seven. In January of 2006, she finished seventh all-around at the Gymnastics in Paradise meet. She won a bronze medal on beam. At the All American Invitational, she finished fourth on vault. She won a silver medal on beam at the Hard Rock Invitational. At the Emerald Challenge, she finished third on vault. She placed seventh all-around at States.
She repeated level seven in 2007. In December of 2006, she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the NAWGJ try-out meet. She earned the Judges Award on bars and floor. She also received the Key Cannedy Award. In January, she won vault, floor and the all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational. At the San Diego Classic, she won beam and the all-around. She won floor at the SPU meet. At the Great West Gym Fest, she won bars, floor and the all-around. Destinee won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Emerald Challenge. At the State Meet, she won vault, floor and the all-around with a 38.475. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Region II Invitational.
She moved up to level eight in 2008. In December of 2007, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the Holiday Express. She earned the Judges Award on bars. She also received the Key Cannedy Award. In January, she won vault and bars at the Gymnastics in Paradise meet. She finished second all-around. She won bars, beam and the all-around at the Vegas Cup. At the Great West Gymfest, she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around. She won beam at the Battle in Seattle meet. She finished third all-around. At the Emerald Team Challenge, she won bars, beam and the all-around. Destiny won vault and bars at the State Championships. She finished third all-around. At the Regional Championships, she won bars and the all-around. She placed second on floor. Because she was one of the top six gymnasts from Washington, she competed in a special state competition. She earned a perfect ten on bars!
In December of 2008, she competed her first and only level nine meet. She won vault, bars and the all-around at the Holiday Express. She began competing level ten in 2009. She swept the gold medals at the All-American Invitational. She finished second on vault at the Great West Gymfest. At the Emerald Team Challenge, she won beam and placed third all-around. She did not compete at States. At Regionals, she finished third on bars, beam and floor. She placed second all-around. Her final level ten meet of the season was JO Nationals. Destinee also competed in hopes during the 2009 season. She qualified at the Metroplex Challenge. At the American Challenge, she finished third all-around in optionals. She won vault and bars. At the Level 10 Regional Championships, she finished second in the all-around and third on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. She qualified to her first Junior Olympic National Championships in Seattle, Washington. In July of 2010, Destinee traveled to Des Moines, Iowa for the US Challenge, where she finished sixth overall and won both vault and floor exercise titles. In December, Destinee was named to the USA National team Training Squad.
In 2009-2010 season, Destinee finished second in the all-around and first on vault and floor exercise at the Holiday Express. At the Level 10 Regional Championships, she placed second in the all-around and first on vault and uneven bars. There, she qualified to her second Junior Olympic Nationals in Dallas, Texas. At the JO Nationals, she finished 19th in the all-around and fifth on vault out of 59 gymnasts. At the beginning of 2011 season, Destinee moved to MAC Gymnastics. Destinee won the all-around title at the Level 10 Regionals and qualified to the JO Nationals for the third time. Sadly, she was unable to compete the rest of the season due to an injury.
