Madison Desch was born on August 25, 1997. She trained with KC Elites before moving to GAGE before the 2008 season.

In 2007, Maddie won the Level 7 State Title on vault. She moved up to level eight in 2008. She placed second all-around at the IGHOF Invitational. At Regionals, she placed second all-around. She won floor. She continued to improve as a level nine in 2009. She placed third all-around at the Palm Beach Invitational. At Regionals, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around titles. Maddie ended her season with a solid performance at Westerns. She finished fourth on vault and twelfth all-around.

Maddie began competing level ten in 2010. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the KC Co-Ed Invitational. She won bars, floor and the all-around at the Dragon Invitational. Maddie finished second on beam and third on vault at the State Championships. She won vault and the all-around at Regionals. She finished her level ten season by placing fourth at JO Nationals, making the JO National Team. She won a bronze medal on vault and a gold medal on bars. She competed at the US Classic and Visa Championships in the summer as a junior international elite.
