Courtney DeTringo was born on March 26, 1994. She began gymnastics at the age of four at Bradon Suntwisters. She trained at Golden City Gymnastics. Courtney began training at LaFleur's Largo in the summer of 2011. She will graduate from high school in 2012.
In 2007, Courtney competed level seven. She placed fourth on beam at the Lightning City Invitational. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. At the National Gymnastics Challenge in 2008, Courtney won beam. She placed second all-around. She moved up to level eight in 2009. She won floor at the Wisconsin Dells Vacation Classic and Daytona Beach Open. At the Gasparilla Classic, she won beam. She placed in the top fifteen at Regionals.
Courtney continued competing level eight in 2010. She placed third all-around at both the Tampa Bay Classic and Daytona Beach Open. She finished second all-around at the Presidential Classic. At the Gasparilla Classic, she placed third all-around. She won floor at the National Gymnastics Challenge. COurtney placed fourth all-around at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. Courtney moved up to level nine in 2011. She finished in the top ten at the Sand Dollar Invitational and Gasparilla Classic. She placed fourth all-around at the Tampa Bay Classic. At the State Championships, she finished in the top fifteen all-around.
