Jessie DeZiel was born on August 12, 1993. Her sister, Brittany is also a gymnast. Jessie trains at Twin City Twisters. Jessie will graduate from high school in 2011.
In 2006, Jessie competed level nine. She finished third on bars and in the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won floor. Her seventh place all-around finish qualified her for Westerns where she placed in the top thirty. Jessie moved up to level ten in 2007. She placed third on vault at the Go For It Classic. At the State Championships, she placed fourth all-around. She won silver medals on vault and floor. At Regionals, she won floor! She finished second on vault and fourth all-around. Jessie ended her season at JO Nationals.
She continued competing level ten in 2008. She finished fifth all-around at the Hard Rock Invitational. At the State Championships, she finished second on vault, bars and in the all-around. She won floor and the all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed in the top ten on floor! In 2009, she finished fourth all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. She placed second all-around and first on beam at the Northern Lights Invitational. At the Byers Invitational, she won vault and the all-around. Jessie won floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won vault, beam, floor and the all-around. She ended her season at JO Nationals with a fourth place finish on vault. Falls on bars and beam kept her down in the all-around standings.
Jessie had a great season in 2010. She won vault and the all-around at the Gopher Women's Invitational and Winter Challenge. At the IGI Chicago Style, she won vault. She placed first on vault and second all-around at the Long Beach Open, qualifying for the Nastia Liukin Cup which she did not attend. At the Northern Lights Classic, she won vault, floor and the all-around. Jessie won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won vault, bars and the all-around. At JO Nationals, Jessie won the all-around title! She also placed seventh on vault, first on bars, third on beam and fifth on floor. In August, Jessie was awarded Region IV Co-Gymnast of the Year and Minnesota Athlete of the Year!
In 2011, Jessie finished first on beam, floor and the all-around at the Gopher Invite. She won vault, floor and the all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational. At the Northern Lights Classic, Jessie finished first on vault with a 9.975. She finished first on bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Rising Stars Invitational. At the State Championships, she won vault, floor and the all-around. Jessie placed first on vault, bars and the all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed second on vault, third on bars, fifth on beam and first on floor. She won the all-around title for the second year in a row! In July, she qualified to senior international elite.
