Maggie Dunn was born on July 21, 1994. Her younger sister Molly is also a gymnast. In 2002, she competed as a level six for Arnold's Gymnastics. She then moved to Aim High Gymnastics. She trained there until 2008 when she moved to Brestyan's. She moved to Ace Gymnastics in the fall of 2011.

In 2004, Maggie competed as a level eight. At Regionals, she placed second on beam. Maggie moved up to level nine in 2005. She finished second on beam at Regionals and fifth all-around. This qualified her for Easterns. Maggie placed in the top twenty! Maggie competed at the US Challenge as a TOPs elite. She made the National TOPs "B" Team.

She moved up to level ten in 2006. She finished third all-around at the Parkette Invite. Maggie placed first at the Rhode Island State Championships! At Regionals, she took the last spot for JO Nationals. She did very well at her first national level ten meet. Maggie qualified to junior pre-elite. She competed at the US Challenge. She finished tenth overall. In 2007, she finished eleventh all-around at the JO National Championships. This was after winning Regionals. She received her junior international elite score. Unfortunately, a hernia kept her out of the US Classic. She then suffered from foot severs, broken fingers and a broken heel.

In 2008, she finished in the top ten at the IGI Chicago Style. She placed fourth all-around at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. As she was coming back from her broken heel, a fractured back kept her out of most of the 2009 season. She finished fifth all-around at the City of Lights Invitational. At States, she placed first on beam and second all-around. She then qualified for JO Nationals. She finished seventh in the all-around. She won beam!

Maggie had a great 2010 season. At the Brestyan Invitational, she won bars and placed second all-around. She finished third all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational. At the Parkette Invitational, she finished second all-around and first on beam. Maggie won beam and the all-around at the AOGC Invitational. Maggie won bars and the all-around at the Starlight Invitational. She won the all-around at States, scoring a 38.00 for the first time as a level ten! She also won vault, bars and beam. At Regionals, Maggie won vault, beam and floor. She improved her all-around score to a 38.075, winning the meet. She ended her season with a ninth place finish at JO Nationals. Maggie placed in the top ten on beam and floor.

Maggie opened her 2010-2011 season by placing second all-around at the Pilgrim Invitational. She also finished second all-around at the Christmas on the Chesapeake meet. At the Brestyan's Invitational, she won bars, floor and the all-around. Maggie won beam and the all-around at the Parkette Invitational. She placed first on beam and third all-around at the WOGA Classic. She won all five gold medals at the Starlight Invitational. At the State Championships, she won vault, beam and the all-around. Maggie placed first on vault and second all-around at Regionals. She placed eighth on floor at JO Nationals.
