Lauren Eller was born on February 12, 1990. She trained at Byers Sacramento during her club career. She graduated from high school in 2007.

In 2002, Lauren competed level nine. She won floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She placed seventh on bars and fifth on floor at Westerns. She finished 18th all-around. Lauren moved up to level ten in 2003. She finished second on beam at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished ninth all-around. In 2004, Lauren finished third on floor at Regionals. She placed third all-around at the 2005 Golden State Classic. At the Surf City Classic, she finished third all-around. Lauren won floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished second on floor and eighth all-around.

Lauren won bars and the all-around at the 2006 Golden State Classic. She finished first on beam, floor and the all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. Lauren won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won floor and the all-around. Lauren placed second on bars, seventh on floor and ninth all-around at JO Nationals. Lauren won bars, floor and the all-around at the 2007 Crystal Cup. She won the all-around title at the State Championships for the third year in a row. She placed first on bars and fourth all-around at Regionals. She placed fifth on vault, first on floor and seventh all-around at JO Nationals. She finished third all-around at the 2008 AOGC Invitational. At the State Championships, she won bars. She placed second all-around. Lauren won bars, floor and the all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed first on bars, seventh on floor and fifth all-around.

As a freshman at Washington in 2009, Lauren competed on vault and floor at Oregon State. After transferring to UC Davis, Lauren redshirted the 2010 season due to injury. In 2011, Lauren competed on beam seven times and floor eight times.
