Emma Engler was born on January 10, 1997. She trained at Impact Gymnastics until 2004. She then moved to Superior Gymnastics until the 2008 season. She then began training at Sonshine Gymnastics.
In 2004, Emma competed level four. She placed third on vault at the Beach Blast Invitational. At the Capital City Invitational, she placed second on vault and third on floor. She finished third on vault at the State Championships. She moved up to level five in 2005. She won floor at the Travel to the Tropics meet. She finished fifth all-around at the State Championships. SHe placed third on bars and second on floor. Emma won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Atlanta Crown Invitational in 2006. In 2007, Emma competed level seven. She placed second all-around at the Buckeye Classic. She won beams at the Hang 10 meet. At the State Championships, she placed second all-around.
Emma competed level eight in 2008. She won vault, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed seventh all-around. She began competing level nine in 2009. She won vault and beam at the NRG Challenge. She won beam at the Sand Dollar Invitational. Emma won vault at both the Sweetheart meet and Charleston Cup. She placed fourth on vault and floor at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed in the top ten. Emma continued competing level nine in 2010. She won vault at the Charleston Cup. At the State Championships, she won vault and beam. She placed third all-around. Emma finished first on vault, second on beam and third all-around at Regionals. She ended her season at Easterns, placing ninth all-around, sixth on vault and third on floor.
