Emerson Porter will graduate from high school in 2016. She trains at Southeastern Gymnastics Center in North Carolina.
In 2006, Emerson competed level five. She placed fourth on beam at the State Championships. In 2007, Emerson won bars, floor and the all-around at the Judges Cup. She won floor and the all-around at the Challenge Cup. At the State Championships, she won bars and floor. She placed second all-around. Emerson competed level six in 2008. She finished third all-around at the Turkey Tumble meet. At the State Championships, she placed second on vault and fourth all-around. Emerson immediately began competing level seven in 2009. She won vault at the Flip Fest Invitational. At the National Gymnastics Challenge, she placed third all-around. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships.
Emerson competed level eight in 2010. She placed fourth all-around at the Sweetheart meet. She finished second on beam and floor at the Charleston Cup. Emerson finished in the top ten at the State Championships. She placed third on floor at Regionals. Emerson competed level nine in 2011. She finished third on beam at the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational. She placed second on bars at the Metroplex Challenge. Emerson finished third all-around at the National Gymnastics Challenge. She finished third on bars at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed third on bars. She was the alternate for Easterns.
