Erika Reichert was born on June 3, 1995. Her older sister, Emily, is a gymnast at the University of Denver. Erika began gymnastics in 2001. She trains at Orlando Metro Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2004, Erika competed level six. She finished fourth all-around at the Jungle Gym Invitational. In 2005, Erika placed first on vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the AAU State Championships. Erika moved up to level seven in 2007. She won beam and the all-around at the State Championships. She placed second on vault. She competed level eight in 2008. She finished second all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. She won vault, beam and the all-around at the Atlanta Crown Invitational. Erika finished third all-around at the City of Lights Invitational. She won floor at the State Championships. At Regionals, Erika placed fourth all-around and second on floor.

Erika competed level nine in 2009. She won bars at the Atlanta Crown Invitational. She finished third all-around at both the Sand Dollar Invitational and Metroplex Challenge. She won bars at the Palm Beach Invitational. At the State Championships, Erika placed first on bars, floor and the all-around. She finished second all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, Erika placed eighth all-around. In 2010, Erika won bars, beam and the all-around at the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational and Daytona Beach Open. She finished second all-around at the Pikes Peak Cup. Erika won beam and floor at the City of Lights Invitational. At the State Championships, Erika placed first on floor. She finished fourth on beam at Regionals. She finished 15th all-around at Easterns.

Erika began competing level ten in 2011. She finished in the top ten at the Lady Luck Invitational and Sand Dollar Invitational. She placed second on beam at the Gasparilla Classic. She finished third on vault at the National Gymnastics Challenge. Erika finished second on bars and fourth all-around at the State Championships. She placed third on floor and ninth all-around at Regionals. Erika competed at the JO National Invitational Tournament. In 2012, she finished third all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational and Gasparilla Classic. She placed fourth all-around at the City of Lights meet. At the State Championships, she won beam and floor.
