Morgan Jalyn Evans was born on March 1, 1990 in San Diego, California. In her early years of gymnastics she trained at Leading Edge and Aztec Gymnastics in Southern California. After moving to Virgnia, Morgan joined Excalibur Gymnastics.
Morgan qualified to the JO National Championships in 2003.
She then tested elite and made it. Her final meet of the 2003 season was the US Classic.
At the 2004 Podium Meet she placed second all-around. At the American Classic, Morgan did well to place ninth and qualify to the US National Championships. Before nationals, Morgan placed seventh on bars at the US Classic. At nationals, Morgan placed ninth all-around and made the US National Team. By making the national team, she earned some international assingments. She helped the USA win over Canada at a dual meet. At the Junior Pan American Championships she placed eigth all-around.
In 2005 Morgan has placed second all-around at the USA vs. Japan meet. Morgan placed fifth all-around at the 2005 US Classic. She followed that up with a sixth place finish at Nationals.
She moved up to senior international elite in 2006. She finished fifth all-around at the US Classic. She did not have a great meet at the US National Championships.
Morgan decided to drop back to level ten in 2007. She qualified to the JO National Championships. In 2008, she won her second straight level ten title. As a freshman at UNC she competed on vault and bars until NCAA Regionals when she competed in the all-around. She finished third on bars at the Governor's Cup and at the George Washington Invitational.
