Jessica Filbin was born on June 3, 1995. She trained at Gym Team USA through the spring of 2004. She then moved to California Elite Sports Center. Jessica moved to Wildfire Gymnastics after the 2005 season. After her family moved to Michigan in January of 2007, Jessica began training at Olympia Gymnastics Academy. She will graduate from high school in 2013.
In 2003, Jessica competed in trampoline and tumbling. She won the level five JO National title. She finished third on level six double mini and ninth on level six trampoline. In the fall, she competed as a level five artistic gymnast. She finished in the top twenty at the State Championships. Jessica moved up to level six in 2004. She finished second at West Sectionals. She immediately began competing level seven in 2005. She won bars, beam and the all-around at the Vegas Vacation meet. She won bars at the California Classic. Jessica finished fifth at the State Championships.
Jessica began competing level eight in 2006. She won bars and the all-around at the Spirals Invitational. She won bars at the AOGC Invitational. Jessica won bars, beam and the all-around at the Long Beach Open. She finished fifth at the State Championships. She placed fourth on beam at Regionals. In 2007, she won beam, floor and the all-around at the IGHOF Invitational. In March, she began competing for her new club in Michigan, finishing third all-around at the Motown Madness. At Regionals, she won bars, beam and the all-around!
After suffering a broken ankle, Jessica continued competing level eight in 2008. She won bars and the all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She moved up to level nine in 2009. She finished second on beam at the State Championships. In 2010, Jessica won beam at the For Love or Money meet. She also won beam at the Buckeye Classic and Motown Madness meet. At the State Championships, she finished second on beam. She did not compete in the all-around. At Regionals, she placed second on bars, first on beam and fourth all-around. She ended her season at Easterns, finishing second on bars and fifth all-around.
