Rachel Fincham was born on December 20, 1991. She graduated from Annapolis Area Christian School in 2009. Rachel has trained at Docksiders Gymnastics in Maryland her whole career.

She competed level six in 2001. She finished third all-around at the State Championships. She won the uneven bars title. Rachel skipped level seven and competed level eight in 2002. Rachel won the all-around title at States! She also won vault. She won bronze medals on bars and beam. She advanced to level nine in 2003. At the Parkette Invitational she won vault. At States, Rachel won bars and finished tenth all-around. She ended her season at Regionals. Her first year as a level ten was in 2004. She finished second on vault at the Charleston Cup. In addition she finished fourth all-around. At States, Rachel plcaed fourth all-around. She won silver medals on vault and bars. At Regionals, Rachel won a bronze medal on vault.

Rachel continued competing level ten in 2005. At the Circle of Stars meet she finished third all-around. She won a silver medal on floor at the Sweetheart Invitational. At Regionals, Rachel finished sixth all-around and fourth on vault. She qualified for her first JO National Championships! They were held in Ontario, California. She finished in the top ten on bars. In 2006, Rachel won a bronze medal on bars at the Parkette Invitational. At States, she finished second all-around. She won silver medals on bars and floor as well. At Regionals, Rachel placed second on bars. In 2007, Rachel won bars at the Christmas on the Chesapeake Meet. She finished third all-around at the Maryland Classic. In finals she won a silver medal on bars. She won her first level ten all-around meet at the John Pancott Invitational. At States, Rachel won bars. She went on to plcae fifth all-around at Regionals, earning her second trip to JO Nationals. At JO Nationals she had her best meet to date, placing eighth all-around with a 37.450.

Rachel had a great 2008 season. She finished third all-around at the Christmas on the Chesapeake meet. She won bars at the Metroplex Challenge. Rachel won the all-around at the Sweetheart Invitational and Tampa Bay Turners Invitational. At States, she won the all-around title along with bars and floor. She made the state team. At Regionals, she finished third all-around. She won a silver medal on beam. At her third JO Nationals, she won a bronze medal on bars. She placed 17th all-around.

She continued having success in 2009. She opened the season with a third place finish on vault and a second place finish on bars at the Brestyan Invitational. She then won bars at the Maryland Classic. At the Parkettes Invitational, she finished third on bars and fourth all-around. She won bars and placed second all-around at the Sweetheart Invitational. Rachel tied for first on bars at the Malibu Coast Challenge. She finished second all-around at the Maryland State Meet. She won bars, beam and floor. At Regionals, she finished second on bars and eighth all-around. Rachel placed seventh all-around at JO Nationals. She finished in the top ten on bars and floor.
