Kennedy Finister was born on December 28, 1995. She trained at American Institute until 2005. She then moved to Phenom Gymnastics. After moving to Texas, Kennedy began training at WGA Texans. She will graduate from high school in 2014.

In 2004, Kennedy competed level six. She won the Caden Meet. By the late fall, she was competing level seven. Kennedy continued competing level seven in 2005, qualifying for the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2007. Kennedy won a silver medal on bars at the Bravo Classic. She qualified for Regionals. In 2008, she moved up to level nine. She finished third all-around at the City of Lights Invitational. At the South Padre Extravaganza, Kennedy won beam. She finished third on vault at States. At Regionals, she placed in the top ten all-around! She also won a silver medal on bars. Kennedy ended her season at Westerns, winning a bronze medal on vault!

She moved up to level ten in 2009. Kennedy placed fourth on bars at States. She placed in the top fifteen all-around. At Regionals, she won vault. This qualified her for the Junior Olympic National Invitational Tournament where she won a bronze medal on vault. She continued competing level ten in 2010. She finished in the top ten at the WOGA Classic. She placed eleventh all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, Kennedy placed fourth on vault and third on floor.
