Emily Fiorilli was born on August 14, 1989. She has two sister, Natalie and Katie. Natalie and Katie were both competitive gymnasts as well. She trained at Flytz USA until 2004. She then moved to Gymnastics World. Emily signed with the University of Illinois- Chicago.

In 2004, she competed as a level nine. She finished third all-around at the Flytz USA Invitational. She competed at Regionals. She moved up to level ten in 2005. She finished in the top ten at Regionals. In 2006, she finished second all-around at States. She won bars. In 2007, Emily won the Dominique Moceanu Invitational. She finished fourth all-around and third on floor at States. She won a silver medal on beam at Regionals.

As a freshman at UIC, she competed in eleven of thirteen meets. She won beam against Western Michigan and floor against Centenary. She finished third on beam against Arizona. She placed second on floor against Northern Illinois. She won beam against Ball State/SEMO. She did not compete in 2009. In 2010, she competed on beam and floor throughout the season.
