Emma Firmstone was born on September 29, 1997. She trains at United Sports Academy in Pennsylvania. She will graduate from high school in 2016.

Emma qualified to the National Judges Cup Team as a level seven in 2009. She then moved up to level eight. She finished fourth on floor at the Parkette Invitational. At the Capital Cup, she placed first on beam and fourth all-around. Emma placed second on beam, third on floor and third all-around at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2010. She finished first on beam at the Long Island Classic. She finished in the top ten all-around at the State Championships. Emma placed in the top twenty all-around at Regionals.

In 2011, Emma continued competing level nine. She finished third all-around at the Frederick Classic. At the State Championships, she placed second on beam and seventh all-around. Emma placed second on beam, third on floor and fifth all-around at Regionals. She competed at Easterns.
