Sierra Freed was born on May 12, 1997. She trained at Black Diamond Gymnastics through the 2009 season. She then moved to Olympus Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2015.

In 2006, Sierra began competing level seven. She finished first on beam at the State Championships. In 2007, she won floor and the all-around at the Crystal Cup. She placed first on vault and floor at the Wine Country Classic. At the State Championships, she won vault, beam and the all-around. Sierra moved up to level eight in 2008. She finished first on beam and the all-around at the State Championships. She placed in the top twenty at Regionals. In 2009, Sierra finished third all-around at the Crystal Cup. She placed second all-around at the Surf City Classic.

Sierra continued competing level eight in 2010. She finished first on bars at the Red Heart 10.0 Invitational. At the Fiesta Bowl Invitational, she won beam and the all-around. She own bars at the Vegas Cup. At Regionals, she placed second on bars and fourth all-around. Sierra moved up to level nine in 2011. She won bars at the Byers Invitational. At Regionals, she finished tenth all-around. She did not compete at Westerns.
