Hailey Gaspar was born on August 7, 1991. She trained at American Gymnastics Academy during her club career. She graduated from high school in 2009.

In 2000, Hailey competed level six. She won vault at the State Championships in November. She finished fifth all-around. A few months later, Hailey began competing level eight. She finished second on vault at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. She competed level nine in 2003. Hailey finished second on floor at Regionals. At Westerns, she finished second on vault, first on floor and third all-around! She moved up to level ten in 2004. She finished third all-around at the State Championships. She won bars.

Hailey finished third all-around at the Flips USA Invitational and fourth all-around at the San Diego Classic in 2005. She won vault, bars and the all-around at the California Classic. At the State Championships, she won vault. She finished second all-around at Regionals. At her first JO National Championships, Hailey placed fifth on floor and in the all-around! In 2006, Hailey won bars, floor and the all-around at the Flips USA Invitational. She finished second all-around at the Long Beach Open and California Classic. Hailey won vault and bars on her way to finishing second all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed second on vault. Hailey placed seventh on vault, eighth on floor and ninth all-around at JO Nationals.

She won vault and the all-around at the 2007 San Diego Classic. Hailey finished first on vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Golden State Friendship Challenge. She won vault at the State Championships. At Regionals, Hailey won vault, floor and the all-around. She placed second on vault and sixth on beam and floor at JO Nationals. She finished 12th all-around. In 2008, Hailey won the all-around at the San Diego Classic and Heart of a Champion Invitational. She won vault, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished first on vault and third all-around. She placed second on vault, eighth on bars and sixth all-around at JO Nationals.

Hailey concluded her club career in 2009. She finished third all-around at the Hard Rock Invitational and Long Beach Open. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won floor and finished second all-around. Hailey placed fifth on vault, second on floor and fourth all-around at JO Nationals. As a freshman at Boise State in 2010, Hailey competed on vault, beam and floor throughout the season. She set season highs of 9.950 on vault, 9.825 on beam and 9.850 on floor. She placed second on vault at both the NCAA Regional and WAC Championships. She earned First Team All-WAC Honors on vault.

In 2011, Hailey competed in nine meets on vault, beam and floor. She won vault against San Jose State and against Utah State, scoring a 9.950 at both meets. She also won vault against Southern Utah and at Sacramento State. Hailey was named WAC Specialist of the Week three times. She also earned All-WAC First-Team honors on vault and floor. Hailey was an All-WAC All-Academic Team Member and NACGC/W Scholar Athlete. She competed on vault, beam and floor during the first half of 2012.
