Elise Gill was born on August 1, 1990. She trained at Perpetual Motion Gymnastics. She graduated from high school in 2009.

In 2006, Elise competed level nine. She won vault at Regionals. In 2007, she won vault at the State Championships. She placed first on vault at Regionals. She finished 15th all-around. Elise won vault at the 2008 State Championships. At Regionals, she placed first on vault, fourth on floor and fifth all-around. Elise finished first on vault at Westerns! She also placed fourth on floor and fifth all-around.

Elise moved up to level ten in 2009. She finished third on bars at the Winterfest meet. She finished second on vault at the Twin Cities Classic. At the Harley Davidson meet, Elise finished third on floor. She placed fourth all-around at the Rising Stars Invitational. She finished second on vault at Regionals. At the JO National Invitational Tournament, Elise placed first on beam and third all-around.

As a freshman at Illinois in 2010, Elise exhibitioned on vault ten times. She was an NACGC/W Scholastic All-American.
