Keara Glover was born on September 16, 1993 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She began gymnastics at just 2 years old so that she would get out of her mother's hair, to allow her mother to watch her older sister do gymnastics. Keara was too young to compete as a 4 years old when she was invited to join the level 4 group, her mother decided that it would be best to wait until she was a little older.
When Keara was at the ages of five and six, she participated in the Level 4 and Pre- Level 5 program which was for those too young to compete in the USAG system. Instead they competed in Dynamo's inter-squad system, where at that time Level 4's and other young talented gymnasts would only competed internally, until they were old enough to compete as a level 5. During this time Keara was also a power-tumbler and was the five to six-year-old Level 7 State Champion. She has always been one of the youngest competitors in her group. At the age of seven, she finished fourth all-around at the Level 5 State Championships. Keara skipped level 6 and went straight on to compete as a level 7. She became the level 7 State All-Around and Beam Champion at age 8. Her all-around score was an 38.100. As a Level 8 gymnast, she finished second in the all-around at State Championships and was also the State Beam Champion. She also finished seventh at Level 8 Regionals and also was the floor champion. When Keara was a level 9, she finished fourth at the State Championships and qualified to Level 9 Regionals.
Keara had a groin injury at the beginning of 2004 and a back injury in mid 2004, both which led to her taking a break from the competition to properly heal. Keara had not competed in a USAG sanctioned meet since April 2004, she returns to competition as a level 10 gymnast. She competed as a level 10 this year finishing 3rd at Regionals and 1st on floor which qualified her to National as a 12 year old.
As a level 10 and elite gymnast in 2007, Keara started at a few invitational competitions in Midwest, such as Jewels Invitational and Krafft Invitational. She placed second and first in the all-around respectively. During that same weekend as Krafft Invitational, Keara and her teammates traveled to Texas for the Elite Qualifier. Keara successfully passed the compulsory test by placing second in the all-around and first on vault. After the elite qualifier, Keara continued to dominate the next three competitions by winning Dynamo Classic, Conoco Philips Invitational, and Oklahoma Level 10 State's. Keara suffered a fall on balance beam and finished third in the all-around with a title on uneven bars at the Level 10 Regionals. A few weeks later, Keara traveled to Houston, Texas for the Elite Testing in Optionals. This opportunity was going to give her the chance to become international elite. Unfortunately, Keara could not compete at the testing due to an injury. She had a severe muscle spasm on the day of training and could not recover in the time for competition. Keara was still unhealthy when Junior Olympic Nationals came by. She decided to compete anyway and placed 16th in the all-around in Junior A Session.
Keara began her 2008 season at Dragon Invitational in Kansas City. She only competed on two events, bars and beam, and placed 2nd on both events. She then placed 1st in the all-around at next three competitions, Pink Ribbon Invitational, Level 10 States, and Level 10 Regionals. At the Junior Olympics in Florida, Keara had a simple mistake on floor that kept her from placing high in the all-around. She, however, took home a silver medal on uneven bars.
She had a great season in 2009. She began the year by winning bars, beam and the all-around at the Trojan Classic. She swept the gold medals at the Folger's Invitational. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational. At the Dynamo Classic, she won bars, beam and the all-around. Keara won beam at the Pink Ribbon Invitational. At the State Championships, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. She won the all-around at Regionals despite a fall on bars. At JO Nationals, she finished eighth all-around! She finished fourth on beam.
Keara began her 2010 season at the Victory Gymnastics and Metroplex Challenge, where she won a gold medal on balance beam at both events. At the Dynamo Classic, she placed fourth in the all-around, third on vault and first on uneven bars. She then traveled to Kansas City for the Pink Ribbon Invitational where she placed third in the all-around and qualified to two event finals; vault and floor exercise. On the next day, she finished fourth on vault and third on floor exercise during the event finals. At the Level 10 Oklahoma State Championships, Keara won the all-around title as well as first on vault, balance beam and floor exercise. She won another all-around title at the Level 10 Regional Championships. She also won two gold medals on uneven bars and balance beam and two bronze medals on vault and floor exercise. There, she qualified to her fifth Junior Olympic Nationals. Keara concluded her 2010 season at the JO Nationals in Dallas, Texas where she finished 15th in the all-around, eighth on vault and fourth on uneven bars.
In 2011, Keara placed second on balance beam, floor exericse and in the all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational. She won the all-around title at the next three competitions, Metroplex Challenge, Dynamo Classic and WOGA Classic. At the Pink Ribbon Invitational, Keara placed third in the all-around and qualified to the uneven bars and balance beam event finals on the next day where she won gold medals on both events. At the Level 10 State Championships, she placed first on uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around. Keara won the all-around title at the Level 10 Regionals and qualified to the JO Nationals for the sixth time. At the JO Nationals in Long Beach, California, Keara placed seventh on balance beam.
