Deanna Graham was born on March 28, 1990. She trained at Springs Gymnastics during her club career. She graduated from high school in 2008.

In 2002, Deanna competed level seven. She continued competing level seven in 2003. She finished second on vault at the Winter Sun Invitational. She finished first on vault and the all-around at the Shamrock Invite. At the State Championships, she won vault. She finished fourth all-around. Deanna moved up to level eight in 2004. She won bars and the all-around at the Winter Sun Invitational. Deanna won bars at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. At the Mardi Gras meet, she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around. Deanna placed first on vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Cactus Cup. At the State Championships, she won beam. Deanne won bars at Regionals. She finished second all-around.

Deanna competed level nine in 2005. She finished first on vault at the Winter Sun Invitational. She won vault, floor and the all-around at the Shamrock Invitational. She competed on vault and bars at the State and Regional Championships. She won vault at Regionals. In 2006, Deanna finished first on vault and bars at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. She placed first on vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Cactus Cooler Invitational. She won all five gold medals at the State Championships. At Regionals, Deanna won vault and placed second all-around. She placed fifth on vault, eighth on bars, second on floor and seventh all-around at Westerns.

Deanna began competing level ten in 2007. She won vault at the Winter Sun Invitational. At the Fiesta Bowl Invitational, she won vault, bars, beam and the all-around. Deanna won vault and floor at the State Championships. She finished second all-around. At Regionals, she won vault, beam, floor and the all-around. She placed first on vault, second on floor and eleventh all-around at JO Nationals. In 2008, Deanna won vault and floor at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. She won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She won vault and floor at Regionals. Deanna placed third all-around. At JO Nationals, she placed third on vault, ninth on beam and fifth all-around.

As a freshman at Arizona in 2009, Deanna competed in all thirteen meet son bars. She competed eleven times on floor and five times on bars. She had three beam exhibitions. Deanna took second on vault against Minnesota. She earned Pac-10 second-team honors on vault. As a sophomore, she competed in twelve out of thirteen meets. She qualified for the NCAA Championships as an all-arounder. Deanna earned Pac-10 first-team honors in the all-around. She won vault against Denver. Deanna also won vault at Arkansas. She won the all-around title against Minnesota. She won floor against Washington. In 2011, Deanna earned Pac-10 first-team all-around honors for the second year in a row. She was named Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week twice.
