Elizabeth Lovejoy Green was born on June 26, 1992. She is the daughter of Mitch and Vivian Green. Her older brother Cole is a baseball player for the University of Texas. Liz spent most of her club career at Texas Dreams Gymnastics in Coppell. She graduated from high school in December of 2010.
In 2003, she competed as a level seven for Top Flight Gymnastics. By 2004, she was competing as a level nine for the newly opened Texas Dreams Gymnastics. She placed first all-around at the Kurt Thomas Invite. At Regionals, Liz placed fifth. This qualified her for the Western Championships. At Westerns, she finished fifth all-around! Liz was also second on both vault and floor.
Liz moved up to junior international elite for the 2005 season. She competed a few events at the US Classic. She was prequalified to the National Championships by scoring a designated score at a national training camp. Although Liz did not have her best meet at the National Championships, she had a great experince. She requalified to international elite in 2006. Liz could not compete at the US Classic or National Championships because of an injury.
She dropped back to level ten in the 2007 season. Liz won the Woga Classic, Sand Dollar Invitational and Kurt Thomas Invitational! At the Level 10 State Championships, she won a gold on every event except for vault. She then swept Regionals. Liz won the JO National title on floor and in the all-around. She continued to have success in 2008. At the Rose City Classic, she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around. At States, she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around. Liz won bars, beam and the all-around at Regionals. She defended her all-around title at JO Nationals. She finished second on bars and beam and third on floor.
Liz opened 2009 by finished fourth all-around at the Texas Prime Meet. She won beam and the all-around at the WOGA Classic with a 39.025. At the State Championships, she finished second all-around. She won beam and floor. Liz won beam and floor again at Regionals with a third place all-around finish. After a rough performance on bars and beam at JO Nationals, she tied for fourth all-around making the JO National Team for the third year in a row. As a freshman at Florida in 2010, Liz competed on beam and floor throughout the season. She finished first on beam at Kentucky, at NCSU and against LSU. She won floor at a tri meet against UNC and Ball State. She was a NACGC/W Scholastic All-American. In 2011, Liz won beam against Kentucky. She placed third on beam against Nebraska. She missed the rest of the season due to a stress fracture in her back.
