Gracyn Wood was born on October 1, 1998. She trained at Shooting Stars Gymnastics through the 2010 season. She then moved to Everest Gymnastics.

In 2004, Gracyn competed level four. She finished first on vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Turkey Tumble. She finished first on floor at the State Championships. She moved up to level five in 2005. She finished first on floor and the all-around at the Harvest Hoe Down. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. In 2006, Gracyn competed level six. She finished second all-around at the Kozeev's Invitational. She finished second on floor at the State Championships.

Gracyn began competing level seven in 2007. She finished third all-around and first on floor at the State Championships. In 2008, she won floor at the Buckeye Classic and National Gymnastics Challenge. At the State Championships, she placed first on floor and second all-around. Gracyn moved up to level eight in 2009. She won floor at the Judges Cup. She placed first on beam at both the Hilton Head Island Invitational, Flip Fest Invitational and Tiger Paw Invitational. At the Sweetheart meet, she won beam, floor and the all-around. Gracyn finished third all-around at the National Gymnastics Challenge. At the State Championships, she won bars. She won floor at Regionals.

In 2010, Gracyn began competing level nine. She won beam at the Flip Fest Invitational. At the Excalibur Cup, she placed first on beam. She finished third on floor at the Charleston Cup. Gracyn finished second on floor at Regionals. She continued competing level nine in 2011. She finished third on beam at both the Flip Fest Invitational and Tiger Paw Classic.
