Abbey Habicht was born on December 27, 1991. She is the oldest of five children. Abbey began gymnastics in 1999. She trained at Orlando Metro during her club career.

In 2003, she competed level eight. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Gasparilla Classic. She qualified for Regionals where she placed twelfth all-around. Abbey moved up to level nine in 2004. She finished second in the all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational. At the IGI Chicago Style, she finished third. Abbey won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Daytona Beach Open. She won bars and the all-around at the Gasparilla Classic. At the State Championships, she finished second all-around and first on bars. Abbey placed fourth all-around and first on floor at Regionals. She ended her season at Level 9 Easterns, finishing in the top ten on floor.

Abbey moved up to level ten in 2005. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the Atlanta Crown Invitational. At the Sand Dollar Invitational, she placed first on bars, beam and the all-around. She won beam at the IGI Chicago Style. Abbey finished third all-around at both the American Twisters Invitational and State Championships where she also took home the floor title. At Regionals, she finished fourth all-around. She ended her season at JO Nationals, placing fourth on beam, ninth on bars and twelfth all-around.

She continued competing level ten in 2006. She finished third all-around at the Pikes Peak Cup and State Championships. Abbey won floor for the second year in a row. At Regionals, she qualified to her second JO Nationals. Abbey finished twelfth all-around. In 2007, Abbey won bars, floor, vault and the all-around at State. At JO Nationals, she finished fourth on beam. Abbey won vault, bars and the all-around at the 2008 Atlanta Crown Invitational. She finished third all-around at the City of Lights Invitational and second at the Tampa Bay Turner Invitational. Abbey competed at her fourth consecutive JO National Championships.

Abbey had a strong 2009 season. She finished third all-around at the Tampa Bay Turner Invitational, City of Lights Invitational and Palm Beach Invitational. At the State Championships, she won bars, floor and the all-around. She finished second all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, Abbey placed second on bars, beam and floor. She won the all-around! In November, she signed with Auburn. Abbey finished her club career in 2010. She won the all-around at the Tampa Bay Turner Invitational. She finished first on bars at State. At Regionals, she placed third all-around. She competed at her sixth consecutive JO National Championships.
