Rachel Haines was born on February 18, 1995. She trained at US Airborne until the spring of 2009. She then moved to Gedderts' Twistars. She will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2005, Rachel competed level seven. She moved up to level eight in 2006. She won balance beam at the IGI Chicago Style. In 2007, Rachel finished third all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. She began competing level nine in 2008. She finished third on vault and floor at the Bravo Classic. At the IGI Chicago Style, she placed second all-around. She won vault and bars. She won vault and floor at the US Airborne Invitational. She qualified to Easterns where she only competed on balance beam.

Rachel continued competing level nine in 2009. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. At the US Airborne Invitational, she won vault, beam, floor and the all-around. Rachel placed fifth all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won beam, floor, and the all-around. Rachel quickly adapted to her new gym before Easterns, winning beam and the all-around. She placed second on vault, bars and floor. Rachel planned to compete level ten but struggled all season with a hamstring injury and opted to compete level nine. She won vault and the all-around at the Byers Invitational. At the State Championships, she won vault and the all-around. Rachel swept the gold medals at Regionals. At Easterns, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. Her all-around score was the highest of the meet.

Rachel moved up to level ten in 2011. She finished first on floor at the Twistars Invitational. At the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. Rachel placed second all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. At the WOGA Classic, she won floor. She also won floor at the Arena Classic. At the State Championships, she placed second all-around. She finished first on bars and floor at Regionals. She finished second all-around. At JO Nationals, she placed seventh on vault, eighth on bars, and second on floor. She placed fourth all-around.
