Emily Haney was born on February 5, 1997. She will graduate from high school in 2015.

In 2005, Emily began competing level four with Prestige Gymnastics. She placed fourth all-around and third on beam at the Buckeye Classic. At the Parkette Invitational, she finished second on floor and third all-around. After moving to Virginia, she competed level five in 2006 with Gymstrada. She moved to Excalibur before the 2007 season. As a level six, she finished tenth all-around at the State Championships. Emily competed level seven in 2008. She finished third all-around at the American Flyer's Cup. At the State Championships, she placed in the top twenty.

Emily competed level eight in 2009. She finished third on vault at the American Flyer's Cup. She placed tenth all-around at the State Championships, qualifying for Regionals. Emily moved to Parkettes before the 2010 season. She competed level nine. She finished second on vault at the Magical Classic. Emily had solid performances at the Parkette Invitational, Pink Invitational, Excalibur Cup and Maryland Classic. In the summer of 2010, she returned to Virginia and resumed training at Excalibur.
