Kayla Hani was born on December 19, 1991 to Ernest and Melynda. She trained at Orlando Metro Gymnastics for the majority of her club career.
She made the National TOPs Team in 2001 and 2002. In 2004, Kayla competed level nine. She won beam at Regionals. She moved up to level ten in 2006. She finished tenth all-around at the Pikes Peak Cup. At the Sand Dollar Invitational, she placed third all-around. She repeated this in 2007. In 2008, Kayla placed third all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She also competed at the City of Lights Invitational, Hard Rock Invitational and IGI Chicago Style. At Regionals, she won balance beam. Kayla ended her season at JO Nationals.
She continued competing level ten in 2009. She won the Palm Beach Invitational. At the City of Lights Invitational, Kayla won beam and placed second all-around. She won bars, beam and the all-around at the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational. At the State Championships, Kayla won beam and placed second all-around. She ended her season at Regionals, competing only on floor. In 2010, Kayla finished second all-around at the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational. She placed second on beam at the City of Lights Invitational. At the State Championships, she finished in the top ten. Kayla ended her club career with a top fifteen finish at Regionals.
