Megan Harada was born on June 8, 1991. She has a sister, Dana, who is a former gymnast. She trains at Hawaiian Island Twistars in Hawaii. Megan was a member of the National TOP Team in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002.

In 2000, Megan won the level eight state title. By 2003, she was competing as a level ten. She qualified to her first JO National Championships. In 2004, Megan placed ninth all-around at JO Nationals! She won vault at Regionals in 2005. She then finished seventh all-around at JO Nationals. Megan competed as a junior pre-elite at the US Challenge in July. She finished third all-around at Regionals in 2006. Megan ended her season at the JO National Championships. In 2007, Megan finished second on bars at the Emerald Team Challenge. She has the highest all-around score at the Level 10 State Championships. She won a silver medal on beam and a bronze medal on vault at Regionals. She competed at her fourth JO Nationals. In 2008, she finished second on vault and third all-around at Regionals. She placed 16th all-around at JO Nationals. She won a bronze medal on uneven bars.

In 2009, she won vault at the Gymnastics in Paradise meet. She placed second on beam and floor. At Regionals, she finished third on bars and second on vault. She placed fourth all-around. She only vaulted at JO Nationals.
