Sierra Hassel was born on November 14, 1997. Sierra trains at Chow's Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2016.

In 2007, Sierra competed level five. She finished third all-around and second on floor at the Midwest Challenge. She moved up to level six in 2006. At the National Judges Cup, Sierra finished second on bars, beam and floor. She won the all-around. She competed level seven in 2009. She swept the gold medals at the Chow's Rising Stars Challenge. At the IGI Chicago Style, she again won all five gold medals. She placed first on vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the Northern Lights Classic.

She moved up to level eight in 2010. She won beam and placed second all-around at the Chow's Rising Stars Challenge. She then moved up to level nine. Sierra won bars and placed second all-around at the Premier Invite. She finished third all-around and first on bars at the Missouri Winter Games. At the Daytona Beach Open, she won beam, floor and the all-around. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, Sierra won beam, floor and the all-around. She finished second on vault. Sierra ended her season at Westerns, placing second on beam, floor and the all-around.
