Alicia Hatcher was born on December 2, 1986. She trained at Great American Gymnastics Express during her club career. She graduated from the University of Missouri.
In 1999, Alicia competed level nine. She finished eighth on beam at Westerns. She moved up to level ten in 2000. She finished tenth on bars at JO Nationals. In 2001, she won bars at JO Nationals. She finished 20th all-around. In 2002, Alicia won the all-around title at the State Championships. She also won the all-around title at Regionals. She placed third on beam, fourth on bars, and fourth all-around at JO Nationals. She made the JO National Team. In 2003, Alicia finished third all-around at the State Championships. She won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed seventh on vault, fourth on bars, first on beam and second all-around. Alicia won the all-around title at the State Championships in 2004. She finished first all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed eighth on bars, second on beam and ninth all-around.
As a freshman at Missouri in 2006, Alicia won uneven bars at SEMO. Alicia was also a mainstay in the beam and floor lineups. She was a NACGC/W Academic All-American. In 2007, Alicia competed on bars and beam. She earned All-Big 12 honors on bars. Alicia won bars at Pittsburgh. Alicia earned first-team All-Big 12 honors on bars for the second consecutive year in 2008. She also earned All-Big 12 Championship team honors on bars. Alicia earned Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week after earning season highs on bars, beam and floor at Nebraska. In 2009, Alicia continued to compete on bars, beam and floor. She earned Big 12 event Specialist of the Week after the first meet. Alicia was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First-Team for the third year.
