Mary Hauswirth was born on August 16, 1991. She trained at Olympia Gymnastics Academy in Michigan during her club career. She was coached by Lori Koch and Deanna Sigler. Mary graduated from high school in 2009.

In 2008, Mary competed level nine. She finished in the top ten all-around at the Twistars Invitational and Motown Madness meet. She finished first all-around at the State Championships. Mary also won the all-around title at Regionals. At Easterns, she won bars and floor! She placed second all-around. Mary moved up to level ten in 2009. She finished first on bars and third all-around at the Buckeye Classic. She placed third on vault and beam at the Motown Madness meet. Mary finished second all-around at the Wolverine Classic. She finished in the top fifteen at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. Mary was a member of the Alabama Gymnastics Team in 2010.
