Raven Helland was born on April 25, 1995. She has one sister, Adeline, who is also a gymnast. Raven trained at Nations until the 2006 season. She then began competing for US Gold. She followed her coaches to Denton during the 2007 season.
Raven competed as a level five in 2003. She finished seventh all-around at the Big Chill Invite. She moved up to level seven in 2004. By 2006, Raven was competing as a level nine. At the TWU Optional Qualifier, she finished second on floor! At States, Raven qualified for Regionals. In the summer, she qualified for hopes pre-elite. She competed at the US Challenge. Raven qualified for National TOP Testing in the fall. She moved up to level ten in 2007. She qualified for the JO National Championships! She competed as a hopes elite again in the summer.
In 2008, Raven has qualified to junior pre-elite. She placed eleventh all-around at Regionals. She then finished eighth at the US Challenge. In 2009, Raven qualified to junior international elite at the Palm Beach Invitational. A few weeks later she competed at the Texas Level 10 State Championships. She placed fourth on bars. She then made her international elite debut at the American Classic in San Diego. Raven also competed at the US Classic.
