Amber Hu was born on May 25, 1994. She trained at SCV Aerials until the gym was bought by Chris Waller in 2005. She will graduate from high school in 2012.
In 2005, Amber competed level six. She finished first on floor at the LA Classic. At the Sectional meet, she placed second on floor. Amber finished third on floor at the State Championships. She immediately began competing level seven in 2006. She placed third all-around at the Tumble Over Breast Cancer meet. She competed at the State Championships. In 2007, Amber placed first on floor at the Heart of a Champion meet. At the Hard Rock Invitational, she won beam. Amber won bars at the California Classic. At the State Championships, she placed third all-around.
Amber competed level eight in 2008. She finished third all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. At the California Classic, she placed second on bars. Amber finished first all-around at the Heart of a Champion meet. At the American Kids Cup, she won bars. She finished in the top fifteen at the State Championships. At Regionals, Amber placed second on bars. She moved up to level nine in 2009. She finished third all-around at the San Diego Classic. Amber won bars at the California Classic. At the Heart of a Champion Invitational, she finished third on bars. Amber finished in the top ten at the State Championships. She finished fifteenth all-around at Regionals.
Amber began competing level ten in 2010. She finished second on bars at the Classic Rock Invitational. She placed third on bars at the Return of the Titans meet. At the State Championships, she placed fourth on bars. Amber competed at Regionals. In 2011, she placed second on bars and beam at the Team OC Classic. She finished third on beam at the IGI Chicago Style. At the State Championships, she finished eighth all-around. She competed on vault and bars at Regionals.
