Demetria Hunte was born on May 26, 1993. She trained at SEGA through the 2010 season. She then moved to Imagine Gymnastics.
In 2007, Demetria competed level eight. She finished fifth all-around at Regionals. In 2008, Demetria won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She placed first on bars and second all-around at Regionals. Demetria competed level nine in 2009. She placed third on bars at the National Judges Cup. She finished second on vault at the National Gymnastics Challenge. At the State Championships, she placed second on vault and fourth all-around. She competed at Regionals.
Demetria began competing level ten in 2010. She finished fifth all-around at the Tiger Paw Classic and Auburn Classic. She placed in the top twenty at the State Championships. In 2011, Demetria placed third on vault at the Tiger Paw Classic. She finished first on vault at the State Championships. She finished fourth all-around. Demetria placed in the top fifteen at Regionals. She finished in the top twenty at the JO National Invitational Tournament.
