Jennifer Lea Iovino was born on Long Island, New York to CarolAnn and Frank on September 8, 1989. Her younger sister, Alison, was also a gymnast. She has trained at Hill's since level five. As a level five, she competed for Exper-tiess in New York.
In 2001, Jennifer competed as a level ten. She placed fourth all-around at the Parkette Invite. At Regionals, she placed in the top seven. This qualified her for the JO National Championships. At this meet, Jennifer concluded her season. In 2002, Jennifer did not compete much. However, in 2003, she came back to qualify for junior international elite. She competed at the American Classic. At the US Classic, Jennifer qualified for the US National Championships. She finished her season at that meet.
Jennifer suffered some injuries in 2004. After a rough start at the US Classic, she came back on her last two events to qualify for Nationals. Jennifer ended her season at Nationals. In 2005, Jennifer competed a few events at the US Classic as a senior international elite. She was not able to finish her competition at the US Nationals. She dropped down to level ten for the 2006 season. Jennifer won Regionals! At JO Nationals, she finished third all-around and first on floor. In 2007, she finished third all-around at the Maryland Classic.
As a freshman at Alabama, she was unable to comepte because of a health-related condition. She still earned Academic All-SEC honors and was named to the NACGC Scholastic All-American team. She left Alabama after one year. She is now on the team at the University of Maryland.
