LaNiesha-Jopre Irvin was born on May 5, 1997. She resides with her parents and three brothers. She trained at SCATS Diamond Elite Gymnastics. She followed Trent and Jill Spaulding to Precision Gymnastics in August of 2007. She moved to Gym-Max before the 2009 season.

Besides being a gymnast, LaNiesha is also an actress. She has been in many commercials. She was in five episodes of "Day Break." She was also in "Women in Law," "Medical Investigation," "ER" and "The District."

She began competing in 2005 as a level five. She finished fourth all-around at the NAWGJ Judges Cup. At the 2nd Prelim, she won vault. She placed second on bars and in the all-around. At East Sectionals, she finished third all-around. She won a silver medal on beam. She finished third all-around at the Halloween Spooktacular. At States, she finished seventh all-around. At the San Diego Classic in January of 2006, she finished second all-around. LaNiesha-Jopre moved up to level six in the fall season of 2006. She finished fourth all-around at the 1st Prelim. At the 2nd Prelim, she won bars, beam and the all-around with a 37.725. She finished third on vault. At East Sectionals, she won bars and the all-around. She placed eighth in the all-around at States. In 2007, she made the National TOPs Team.

In 2008, she competed level eight. She won vault at the Hall of Fame Invitational. At the AOGC Invitational, she finished third on vault and bars. She finished third on bars at the Heart of a Champion. At States, she finished fourth all-around. She won vault. She placed eighth all-around at Regionals. She finished fourth on bars. In December, she earned her hopes compulsory score. She moved up to level nine in 2009. At the Malibu Coast Challenge, she won vault. She placed third all-around. At States, she finished third on vault and bars. She placed fourth all-around at Regionals. She won beam. At Westerns, she placed fifth on vault. She won the SCEGA Elite Qualifier, making hopes. At the US Challenge in Des Moines, Iowa, she placed eighth in the all-around.

As a level 10 gymnast in 2010, she placed 11th in the all-around at the OC Classic and Long Beach Open and 13th in the all-around at the San Diego Classic. At the Level 10 State Championships, she placed seventh in the all-around and first on vault. She then placed 18th in the all-around, seventh on balance beam and eighth on vault at the Level 10 Regionals. She concluded her 2010 season at the Arizona National Elite Qualifier.

She started her 2010-2011 season at the California State Games where she placed second in the all-around and first on vault. At the OC Classic, she earned bronze medals on floor exercise and in the all-around. She placed fourth in the all-around at both Malibu Coast Challenge and Level 10 State Championships. At the Level 10 Regionals, LaNiesha placed second on vault and in the all-around. There, she qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Long Beach! At the JO Nationals, she placed 26th in the all-around and fifth on vault.
