Kimberly Jacob was born on September 18, 1991. She is the daughter of Mike and Vicki. She has a brother, Richard and four sisters, Jennifer, Stephanie, Kelse and Kristine. Kristina is currently on a full ride scholarship at University of North Carolina. In 1999, Kimberly competed at the USAIGC Regional Championships for Medalist All-Stars. In 2002, she competed for Gymcarolina Gymnastics under the direction of Sam Schuh and Annette Kai. She moved to Superior Gymnastics following the 2006 US National Championships.
Kimberly competed two years of level nine. Her first year was in 2002. At the Charleston Cup, she finished first on beam and third all-around. Her next competition was the Level 9 North Carolina State Championships. She won the all-around title and three events titles on vault, beam and floor. At the Regional Championships, she won the gold in the all-around and on beam. Kimberly finished her season off at Easterns, where she won the beam gold. Her second season of level nine was very successful in 2003. She won the all-around title at the Desert Devils Classic and Sweetheart Invite. She took home three state titles including the all-around title. Kimberly also defended her regional title in the all-around. She concluded her season by winning the Eastern all-around title!
The highest level of the junior olympic program is level ten. Kimberly began competing this level in 2004. She consistently won floor titles throughout the season including the Charleston Cup, Atlanta Corwn, Sweetheart Invite and Regionals. At Regionals, she finished second all-around which is very good for a first year level ten. She ended her season with a decent performance at the JO National Championships. Kimberly had a similar year in 2005. She won the all-around title at the Sweetheart Invite and finished second all-around at Regionals. She again ended her season at the JO National Championships.
In 2006, Kimberly competed her third year of level ten. She finished first all-around at the Gasparilla Classic and the Atlanta Crown Invitational. She won five gold medals at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won the all-around title. Her final level ten meet was the JO National Championships. She finished first on beam and floor. Kimberly also took home the gold medal in the all-around competition! After JO Nationals, she qualified to junior international elite. At the US Classic, Kimberly scored high enough to make it to the US National Championships. She put up a great performance at Nationals!
She moved to the senior division in 2007. She competed at the US Classic. In 2008, she finished fourth all-around at the WOGA Classic. Kimberly qualified for the US National Championships at the May Elite Qualifier. A few weeks later, she finished fourth on bars at the US Classic. She competed at US Nationals in early June. In 2009, Kimberly finished second all-around at the American Classic. She won uneven bars. Kimberly tied for sixth at the US Classic. She competed at her third Visa Championships in August, earning a medal on balance beam. In November, she signed with the University of Alabama.
Kimberly decided to drop down to level ten for the 2010 season. She won the all-around at the Gatlinburg Classic, Sand Dollar Invitational and Circle of Stars meet. She qualified for the Nastia Liukin Cup, where she placed third all-around. At the North Carolina State Championships, she won vault, beam, floor and the all-around.
