Tessa Jaranowski was born on June 13, 1995. She trained at Gymnastics Plus in Indiana through the 2010 season. After moving to Missouri, she began training at Mercury. Tessa moved to Edge- Riverside after the 2012 season. She graduated from high school in 2013.
In 2008, Tessa competed level seven. She placed seventh all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. She finished second all-around at the 2009 Wisconsin Dells Vacation Classic. She won bars at the IGI Chicago Style. She won vault, bars and the all-around at the Circle of Stars meet. Tessa moved up to level eight in 2010. She won bars at the IGI Chicago Style. She placed second all-around at the Circle of Stars meet. Tessa competed level nine in 2011. She finished third all-around at the Meet Me in St. Louis meet. She won bars at the Flipz Invitational. At the State Championships, she won bars and the all-around. Tessa competed at Regionals.
Tessa began competing level ten in 2012. She finished first on vault at the Sand Dollar Invitational and IGI Chicago Style. She did not compete the rest of the season. In 2013, she placed second all-around at the Rolling Thunder Invitational. She placed third on bars at the Manhattan Classic. She finished third on floor at the City of Lights Invitational. Tessa won bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. She finished 13th all-around at Regionals. Tessa placed second all-around at the 2014 Chow's Winter Classic and Rolling Thunder Invite. She placed fourth all-around at the IGI Chicago Style.
