Krista Jasper was born to Pete and Lorraine on May 7, 1989. She was born in Birchrunville, Pennsylvania. Krista began gymnastics in December of 1998 when she was almost ten. She began gymnastics at the Phoenixville YMCA but moved to Parkettes in 2000.

In the fall of 2000, Krista began competing as a level nine. She won the all-around title at the Black Eyed Susan andWinter in Brandywine. She continued her winning ways at the 2001 Maryland Classic and Magical Classic. At States, Krista fell on beam and finished seventh all-around. She improved to sixth at Regionals. Krista ended her 2001 season at Easterns. She placed eighth all-around and third on both bars and floor.

Barely three years after starting gymnastics, Krista moved to the highest level in gymnastics, elite. She quickly qualified to junior international elite in the early spring. She qualified to the American Classic, where she finished 11th all-around. At the US Classic, Krista moved up to eighth all-around. She also finished third on vault. Her season ended at the US National Championships in Ohio.

Krista began struggling with a nasty elbow injury. With her family, she moved to New Heights Gymnastics in Wauseon, Ohio for most of 2003. After knee surgery, Krista healed up well and moved back to Pennsylvania. She began training at Metzlers Gymnastics. Krista competed at the 2004 US Classic as a junior international elite. In 2005, she trained at Hills Gymnastics briefly before having to quit gymnastics with a nagging elbow injury. After alternative physical therapy, she was able to come back to level ten gymnastics in 2006.

She began her comeback at AJS Pancott in Pennsylvania. In December of 2006, she won bars, floor and the all-around at the Wintertime in Brandywine. She finished third all-around at the Brestyans Invitational. She won beam. She won bars and the all-around at the ESGA Berks League Meet. She won vault at the Hard Rock Invitational. Krista won vault, beam and the all-around at the John Pancott Invitational. At the ESGA League Meet, she won bars and the all-around. Krista finished second all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she palced third on bars and second on floor. She finished fifth all-around, qualifying for JO Nationals. Krista placed in the top ten on vault and bars at JO Nationals. She placed in the top twenty all-around.

Krista missed her freshman year season at UNC because of a torn ACL. She came back in 2009. Krista competed on bars, beam and floor. She finished second on floor against New Hampshire, at the Sweetheart Invitational and at the EAGLE Championships. She was on the EAGL All-Academic Team.
