Brandie Jay was born on November 26, 1993. She trains at GK Gymnastics in Colorado. She will graduate high school in 2012.

In 2005, Brandie competed level ten. She finished tenth all-around at the State Championships. She competed at the State Championships in 2006. She won bars, floor and the all-around at the California Classic in 2007. At the State Championships, she placed third on beam and fifth all-around. At Regionals, she finished seventh all-around. Brandie ended her season at JO Nationals. She continued competing level ten in 2008. She placed third all-around at the Hard Rock Invitational. At Regionals, she placed in the top twenty. Brandie continued to improve in 2009. She finished second all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. At the California Classic, she placed second on vault and bars. Brandie won vault and bars at Regionals. She finished third all-around. She ended her season at JO Nationals, placing 21st.

Brandie had a great 2010 season. She won vault and placed second all-around at the Denver Winterfest. At the Sand Dollar Invitational, she placed third. Brandie won vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the AOGC Invitational. At the State Championships, she won vault, bars and the all-around. She then won vault and the all-around at Regionals. Brandie ended her season at JO Nationals, placing first on vault and in the all-around. She placed second on floor. A month later, Brandie qualified to senior international elite and the US National Championships at the Bieger Elite Qualifier. She competed at the Covergirl Classic. At the Visa Championships, Brandie finished third on vault.
