Jamyra Carter was born on December 24, 1994. She trained at Gym America until the fall of 2011. She then moved to Splitz Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2005, she competed level five. She placed third on beam at the State Championships. She moved up to level six in 2006. She competed at the State Championships. Jamyra competed level seven in 2007. She finished first on bars at the National Judges Cup. She competed at the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2008. She continued competing level eight in 2009. She won bars at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. At the IGI Chicago Style, she won bars and the all-around.

Jamyra moved up to level nine in 2010. She placed second on bars at the Universal Invite. She finished second on floor at the Circle of Stars meet. At the Wolverine Classic, she finished first on beam. She placed third on beam at the State Championships. Jamyra won beam at Regionals. She was the alternate for Easterns. In 2011, Jamyra won bars at the Battle of Champions and Circle of Stars meet. She placed third all-around at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. At the Buckeye Classic, she won bars, beam and the all-around. She also won bars, beam and the all-around at the Wolverine Classic. At the State Championships, she finished fourth all-around. She placed second on bars at Regionals. She won bars at Easterns!
