Julie Jennings was born on January 15, 1996. She trained at Puget Sound Gymnastics until the 2007 season. She then spent two years with Metropolitan Gymnastics. Julia returned to Puget Sound for the 2009 season. She then followed her coach, Brad Loan, to Roach Gymnastics.
In 2004, Julie competed level five. She finished second all-around at the Mystery Classic. She won the Blooms and Blossoms meet and Teddy Bear Classic. At Sectionals, she placed first all-around. She ended her season at the State Championships, placing second all-around. Julie competed level seven in 2005. She placed second all-around at the Gem State Invitational and Mystery Classic. She finished third at the Pajama Classic. Her final meet of the season was the State Championships.
Julie competed level eight in 2006. She finished fourth on vault and floor at the Starz and Stripes Invitational. At Regionals, she placed first on bars and ninth all-around. SHe moved up to level nine in 2007. She won vault, beam, and the all-around at Regionals. She finished in the top twenty at Westerns. Julie continued competing level nine in 2008. She finished first on vault and third all-around at the Flips Invitational. She placed second on vault at the Seattle Open and first on vault at the Battle in Seattle meet. At the State Championships, she placed second on beam. At Regionals, she won beam. Julie placed second all-around. She ended her season at Westerns with a top ten finish on vault.
She began competing level ten in 2009. She finished second all-around at the Great West Gymfest. At Regionals, she placed second on vault and sixth all-around. She qualified for JO Nationals. In 2010, she won beam at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She finished third on beam at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed fourth all-around. She finished third on vault and beam. Julie ended her season at JO Nationals.
