Gabrielle Johanek was born on December 5, 1996. She trained at 1st Class Gymnastics in 2007. She then moved to World Class Gymnastics in Virginia. After the 2010 season, she moved to Tampa Bay Turners. She will graduate from high school in 2014.
In 2007, Gabrielle competed level four. She finished in the top ten at the Fantasy Invitational. She moved up to level five in 2008. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. Gabrielle competed level eight in 2009. She finished second on floor at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She won the all-around title at the Excalibur Cup. She placed third all-around at the Palm Beach Invitational and Shamrock Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed third all-around.
Gabrielle began competing level eight in 2010. She finished first on bars and beam at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She placed third all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. At the Excalibur Cup, she won bars and beam. She won bars, floor and the all-around at the Derby Classic. At the State Championships, she placed second on bars, beam and the all-around. In 2011, she won bars at the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational. She won beam and the all-around at the Daytona Beach Open She placed first on bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won bars and beam.
