Laura Jollie was born on July 3, 1991. She trained at Midwest Gymnastics in Minnesota during her club career. She graduated from high school in 2010.
In 2004, Laura competed level nine. She finished fourth on floor at the Northern Lights Invitational. She moved up to level ten in 2005. She finished second on floor and fourth all-around at Regionals. She competed at JO Nationals. In 2006, Laura competed at JO Nationals for the second time. She also competed as a junior pre-elite at the US Challenge. Laura won vault at the 2007 Lady Luck Invitational. She also won vault at Regionals.
Lauran finished second on bars at the 2009 Rising Stars Invitational. She finished eleventh all-around at both the State and Regional Championships. At the JO National Invitational Tournament, she placed in the top ten all-around. In 2010, Laura won beam at the Manhattan Classic. She did not compete on vault at the State Championships. She finished ninth all-around at Regionals. At the JO National Invitational Tournament, she finished second on beam.
